Taking Your Writing to the Next Level

Writing is a process of discovery. Modelled after a college writing workshop, this Writers in the Schools (WITS) course will guide students as they share constructive feedback on each other’s original work. We will explore the fundamentals - original voice, inventive word choice, sentence fluency, and clear organization - in a fun, positive space where each student can discover where their writing can go next. We’ll also focus on the power of revision and witness the incredible difference between our first words and our final drafts. At the end of the workshop, family will be invited to a celebration where students will read aloud from their favorite pieces; each student will take home a personal writing portfolio.
